Earl J. “Pete” Harper, 79, of Paducah passed away at 7:07 PM on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Baptist Health of Paducah. Mr. Harper was a Chief Engineer in the river industry and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a member of Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Paducah, VFW Post 31 of Paducah, and VFW Post 5595 of Princeton, KY. He is survived by one son, Christopher Allyn (Annette) Harper of Paducah; one daughter, Carletta Ann Harper of Paducah; one sister, Ann Read of Paducah; five grandchildren, Mason, Micah, Noah, Rachele, and Thomas; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Beulah (Joyce) Harper; his wife, Eva Ann Harper; and one sister, Janie Harper. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Paducah with Rev. John Herndon, Todd Belt, and Tim Threatt officiating. Burial with military rights will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, KY. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time Tuesday at the church.
