Gilbertsville,KY ----- Ada Rose Kepner Allcock (Gran), 83, of Gilbertsville went to be with the Lord at 9:38 a.m Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Western Baptist Hospital of Paducah.

She attended Briensburg Methodist Church in Briensburg,KY.

Mrs. Allcock was a retiree with 30 years at South Central Bell. the first two
years of her career began in Chicago, ILL. as an operator/framer before
transferring back to Paducah . Being a minister\'s wife for 35 years, she served her Lord at three different Cumberland Presbyterian churches in the area which included: Pleasant Valley C.P. Church in Ballard county, Hopewell C.P. Church in Lola, KY, and Mt. Zion C.P. Church in Water Valley, KY. As a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, she was richly rewarded making and stuffing heart pillows for patients. As a volunteer, representing the American Quilt Society for several years, she later became an avid quilter herself, with the Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Ladies Quilt Club. Through the American Red Cross and Southern Baptist Disaster Team, she served mankind during Hurricane Andrew. Apart from giving of herself to others, she found time to become a collector of Coca -Cola memorabilia, and play a few rounds of golf with her friends.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy C. Allcock; one son, Ricky C.
Allcock and wife Brenda Hughes Allcock of Reidland; two grandsons: Brent
Nelson Baggett and wife, Stephanie, of Austin, TX, and Benjamin Lee Baggett and
wife, Gail,of Corvallis, OR., and one great grandson to be born in November,
2010; one sister: Doris Kepner Hunt of Sevens City,VA. Nephews: Steve Brown, of Paducah, Glenn Bruce of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jimmy Kepner and Mike Kepner, both of Paducah; Nieces:Donna Kay Wynn and Vickie Kepner Stewart, both of Paducah and Kathy Brown Lanstedt of Florida and a beloved sister-in-law, Joanne Houser Allcock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Harold Kepner and Mamie
Walker Kepner; two brothers: David Kepner, and Richard Kepner; one sister:Frances Kepner Brown.


Celebration of Life services will be at 11:00 a.m Friday, July 16, 2010 at Hughes
Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Calvin Wilkins and Rev. Bill Lawson will
officiate. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial gardens. Pallbearers will be Virgil Enochs, Charlie Hatfield, Brent Baggett, Ben Baggett, Barry Mann, and Sunnie Jim Belt.


Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. on Thursday July 15, 2010 and from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday July 16, 2010 at Hughes Funeral Home.
