James R. Thomasson, 59, of Paducah, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Mr. Thomasson was retired from the City of Paducah where he was employed for thiry years. He was of the Jehova Witness faith.

James was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of forty years, Debbie S. Thomasson, one son, Jet Thomasson, one daughter Carmen Thomasson, his parents, Robert and Ima Zane Thomasson all of Paducah, one brother, Terry Lee Thomasson of Ballard County, three sisters, Brenda Wilkerson, Patricia English, and Rose Smith all of Paducah, one grandson, Ryan Ward of Paducah, one granddaughter, Katlyn Thomasson of Paducah, three step grandchildren, Nick Ward of New Madrid, Missouri, Brittany Ward and Preston Scott both of Paducah and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Joe Thomasson.

Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday June 21, 2010 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rodney Hayes officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour Monday at the funeral home.
